Rhiannon Parnis

About the Artist

Rhiannon Parnis is an illustrator based in Cardiff and has recently graduated from BA (Hons) Illustration at Cardiff School of Art and Design. She has worked on editorial and narrative based projects, most recently illustrating a short story for The Cardiff Review. In 2015 her entries for the Folio Society & House of Illustration competition were selected as part of a longlist and exhibited at House of Illustration in London. In addition to this text based side of her practice she works on self-directed projects where she explores more unconventional narratives involving sequential image. Rhiannon’s work is often painterly and subtle, aiming to create atmospheric and emotive images through use of a range of media, including inks, gouache and coloured pencil.

She has also been involved in various exhibitions including Within/Without, a student led group exhibition at PAPER Arts, Bristol, the Cardiff School of Art and Design 2016 Degree show, and Composite, a group exhibition in the unused office spaces of Brunel House in Cardiff, marking the end of a residency with Floating Island Gallery. Additionally, Rhiannon has also been part of a sketch team documenting the 2016 Beyond the Border storytelling Festival.
