Interactive Foley workshop for young people!
Abbey End Studios presents a unique opportunity in Kenilworth to make strange noises with vegetables and see that be turned into sound effects to for a film!
What is Foley? – The reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to films, videos, and other media in post-production to enhance audio quality.
Titantic and Cabbage – Do you remember the infamous scene in Titanic in which Rose hears her piece of driftwood snapping? The sound doesn’t come from actual wood being split. To simulate the effect, they used pieces of frozen cabbage!
Veg and Sound – In this fun interactive workshop, we will be using a variety of vegetables and fruits to make sound effects, and you will get to see the results on screeen. Guarunteed to be messy, creative and lots of fun!
Akira Summers will be running the workshop at the Kenilworth centre. Akira has been working in software and technological development since the year 2000. Starting off in web development and interactive media, she has held many development roles and spent several years working as an embedded game programmer, multimedia developer and learning technologist.
This fun, creative and messy workshop is aimed at anyone over the age of 7. For children 12 and under we ask that you remain onsite for the workshop, a pop-up cafe will be available.
