About the Event

Karin Celestine – Celestine & the Hare – is a fibre artist and writer. She needles felt small creatures and tell stories from her little shed workshop in Monmouth, Wales. Each creature Karin makes has a unique character, charm and mischief of its own. She has a sense of fun and nostalgia and a love of the forgotten, small, passed over and missed things. Karin is the author of several much-loved children’s books and the creator of beautiful short stop motion animations, which feature the creatures she has made.
On Saturday 23rd September, Karin will be running a workshop on how to make a dreamcatcher. All the materials you need will be provided, but you can bring our own small treasures to weave in to it if you like: pretty buttons, favourite shells, small hagstones and other beautiful things.
This is a bit fiddly so best for children ages 8+ and adults. That said, there will also be fun things for younger children to do – there will be another table set up where smaller people can make origami fox bookmarks, alder-cone bees, or paper boats.
Tickets are £8 per person for the dreamcatcher workshop – and you’ll leave with your very own dreamcatcher. Tickets for under 8s who are coming for the origami and alder-cone bees, are £2.
